From the Vegas Strip to Red Rock Canyon and back

How long a ride- time wise.

2. five and a half hours

But I had to spend some time at a gas station on the way down to let the feeling return to several of my fingers. It's 2000 feet up and down, and the descent would have been a lot more fun if it wasn't for the fact that the faster I went, the colder my fingers became.

Not doing that again with "water resistant" gloves.

4. I have a pair of neoprene gloves that I wore on a wet cooler than cool ride.

Everything was good hand wise. We stopped at our usual rest place which is under cover. I took my gloves off while we gossiped. When I put them back on they were cold and wet on the inside. Ah like a wet suit, they warmed up pretty quick and my hands were comfortable again. I wouldn't suggest these for really cold riding.

3. Been to Red Rock

many times. But on a motorcycle. Beautiful place.

5. That is a beautiful ride.

On out to Blue Diamond is also nice.
A daybreak ride on the Strip is easy and interesting.
