I mean, if he wasn’t the one throwing it.

A great pitcher who’s also a quality hitter, that’s almost unnatural. The last great pitcher who could hit that well was Babe Ruth, and he got moved to right field. But this guy can keep pitching and still hit like that.

Corolla was taking a turn at the plate and the pitcher threw one high and tight - Corolla crapped his pants, hit the dirt, and left the box.

Tommy Lasorda laid into him as Kimmel was roaring with laughter.

A pitch like that would scare the shit out of anyone but a pro ball player.

probably shatter my wrists, my forearms, and possibly both my elbows. I'd get some distance on the ball, maybe as far as second base, but that'd be almost entirely the kinetic force of the pitch.

...the vast majority of people would not process the spatial changes fast enough to accurately assess distance (depth perception). They'd be way late to the ball, even if they started early enough.
That's what makes major league hitters major league hitters.
It's easy to get bat speed. Seeing the ball to contact is a gift.

That MLB players have the best hand-eye coordination out of all professional sports athletes.

And you’d still need some luck to hit that pitch.
