Giants' Vogelsong again gets no support in 4th straight loss

Earl Weaver might have punched a hole in his office wall by now. Billy Martin might have introduced his foot to a sportswriter's backside.

Bruce Bochy is not like that. He tries to remain even-keeled in public and in the eyes of his players, who absorb their manager's calm and remain optimistic that the start of a great run can be only a day away.

So it was after Arizona dealt the Giants their 10th shutout loss of the season Saturday, a dismal 2-0 affair.

Michael Morse, told that the fans might be tired of hearing "that's baseball" when the team has lost 16 of its past 21 home games, said, "I don't know what else to tell you."

When asked if any of the Giants has reached that frustration level where objects get thrown or broken, he calmly said, "The only people frustrated are you guys. We're trying to play our best. We've got 25 guys in here playing to win. There's no stopping that. That's what we do."

Perspective is in order.
