On July 3, 1973, brothers Gaylord Perry (Indians) and Jim Perry (Tigers) pitched against each other for the only regular season game in their careers. Neither finished the game, but Gaylord was charged with the 54 loss.

(13,248 posts)One book I find them in is Joe Posnanski's "The Baseball 100." It's his countdown of the top 100 players, strictly his opinion. I won't spoil it and tell you who he has at Number One. Kind of surprised me.
It's full of great stories and stats. About 3 or 4 pages per player. I am enjoying immensely.

Hell, Posnanski's number 56, Joe DiMaggio, agreed, "the closest thing you can come to perfection."
