Giants' pitchers making winners out of losers

The Rockies had lost 13 of 17 games before they last faced the Giants. The White Sox and Diamondbacks each had dropped seven of nine. The Padres had lost 14 of 20 and fired their general manager, who paid the price for the majors' worst offense.

These are the mighty teams that have overseen the Giants' collapse over the past 14 games, 11 of them losses.

San Diego whomped the Giants for the second night in a row Tuesday and had no trouble against Tim Hudson in their 7-2 victory. The Padres had averaged just under three runs a game when they came to San Francisco and have scored 13 times in 18 innings.

The Padres battered Hudson for six runs (four earned) in 5 2/3 innings. In losing consecutive starts for the first time as a Giant, Hudson has surrendered 11 earned runs and 21 hits in 10 1/3 innings.
