Bullpen falters again as Rockies sweep Giants

The Giants were this close (fingers nearly touching) to sweeping the Rockies.

Instead, they got swept and have their late-game relievers to blame.

After closer Sergio Romo blew ninth-inning save opportunities both Friday and Saturday, the Giants wasted a 7-4 lead Sunday after yielding four runs in the eighth inning, falling 8-7 - the first time Colorado swept a three-game series from the Giants since 2008.

Juan Gutierrez was charged with all four runs, the first runs he surrendered at home all season, but the game was decided when lefty Javier Lopez entered to face Justin Morneau and surrendered a two-run double for the tying and go-ahead runs.
