Giants start trip with 6-5 comeback win over Cardinals

St. Louis -- Even in their championship seasons, the Giants did not have a "pick your poison" lineup, a deep collection of mashers who made the opposing manager scratch his head wondering which guy he wants his pitcher to face in the money moment.

They do now.

In the opener of a four-game series at Busch Stadium on Thursday night, the Giants scored three in the eighth to come from behind and win 6-5.

Michael Morse broke a 4-4 tie with a two-run double off a 98-mph Trevor Rosenthal fastball after St. Louis manager Mike Matheny prudently walked the Giants' hottest hitter, Pablo Sandoval.

Pick your poison.
