Giants rally past Marlins to get Cain first win in months

Nearly 10 months passed since Matt Cain won at AT&T Park, nearly nine since he won anywhere. No matter how archaic people view individual pitcher wins, the gap was startling.

The droughts ended on a warm evening, on a night when Cain was not his best but benefited from an offense that often does not bare its fangs when he throws.

Down 4-1, the Giants scored the next five runs and beat the Marlins 6-4. Cain celebrated his first win since he won at Miami on Aug. 17 and his first in San Francisco since a July 20 game against the Diamondbacks.

The Giants won for only the second time in their past 13 home games against the Marlins.

Cain allowed four runs in the first three innings an no more, getting two outs in the eighth before leaving with two outs and a runner on.
