Tough night for Buster Posey in Giants' 5-0 loss

Sometimes replay just isn't necessary.

Like in the sixth inning of the Giants' 5-0 loss to the Braves on Tuesday night. Catcher Buster Posey took a throw from right fielder Hunter Pence and had plenty of time to tag Jason Heyward, but Heyward slid low and Posey tagged high.

It clearly was a missed tag, and Posey's body language told the story. He had no gripe with umpire Ed Hickox, but manager Bruce Bochy chose to make his third challenge in three days. It took just 35 seconds for the verdict to be messaged from New York:

Call stands.

"We had a view that made it look like (Posey) might have barely touched him," Bochy said. "At that point in the game, we had nothing to lose. That's a big run. We hoped he caught his uniform and nicked him somehow. That was a quick review, and they said he missed him."
