Related: About this forumPadres/Nationals suspended game, and a question on 2021 rule on Doubleheaders games
They suspended the game in the bottom of the sixth inning last night, because of some sort of shooting outside the park, and will resume the game today. My question is, with the new doubleheaders rule, are they going to play one stinking inning and call it a day?
Doubleheaders that are played in 2021 will have both games be seven innings, rather than nine innings.

(39,358 posts)The 7 inning rule was for 2020 and 21 because the commissioner thought there'd be a ton of doubleheaders due to covid shutdowns. Manfred said during the break that 7inning games would most likely go away next season. (We'll prob get the designated hitter for the NL too)
I don't know about this game, but the Marlins are finishing a game that was suspended in the 10th last night before they start their regular game with the Phil's today.
