ESPN conducted a poll once where they asked

Hall of Famers Bob Gibson, Juan Marichal, Jim Palmer, Nolan Ryan, Steve Carlton, Bert Blyleven, and Don Sutton who was the best pitcher of their generation. They all agreed.

All of could swing the lumber. I liked Tony Perez and always wondered how he got the nickname "Doggie"?

toughest pitcher to hit was. Without hesitation he said Seaver. Of course this post Koufax and McClain. These pitchers are mainly talking of the 70s I think.
