A real piss poor call on the base-running call. But, next batter corrected the injustice and hit a 2 run homer.
Disclosure: I am a die hard Red Sox fan, but I want to see the Nats win....cuz, why not?

(16,270 posts)to come when the inning ended. Who, at this moment, knows if that one (or more) run will be the difference in the game and series?
Only if the game actually ends in a Nats win will the poor call be fixed. There is still time for it to go the other way.

(5,268 posts)Don't know how that could have gone. Kinda ditched the momentum of the game with the whole batter interference call. Was weird, broke game concentration even if it was in the Astros favor. Am hoping for better calls tomorrow. This ain't on either team. I'm just saying that it broke the rhythm of play, unnecessarily.

(28,361 posts)On replay, the batter ran a route that is expected...the shortest distance to the base. His foot hit squarely on the middle of the bag....BUT....the ball was late and behind the runner. No way can it be interference if the runner is on the bag before the ball gets there. IMHO.

But that play could have changed the direction of the game. Glad it didn't. Nars deserved the win. Should be a great Game 7!

(5,268 posts)To be sure. I love this stuff. It's so tough, but good for relaxing. Astros post season is something for me since 2017... Am glad it's happening for the Nats.
For the Nats at #5 game, I was all," Y'all suck it up"... Felt that for the second game. Love it. Astros adore the game and are excellent. It's a good showdown if the umps will stay out of the way.

(3,191 posts)Yeah Joe, who is now Baseball's Chief Baseball Officer, he sounded shaken and he was lying through his teeth. Wish I could play a clip, it was fucking ridiculous.

(9,238 posts)The runner was in a normal path to the base. The throw was off which is why the first basemans glove hit the runner. Its not the runners responsibility to avoid an errant throw.
Why they couldnt admit it and overturn it after reviewing is beyond me.
Thank goodness it didnt matter.

(5,053 posts)the replay from down the 1st baseline showed that the runner never wavered in the base path. No drifting into the infield nor into foul territory...straight down the line.
Had the 1st baseman been left handed, no call.

(13,460 posts)We've seen a very high level of play in this World Series. Will it be the first one in which the home team lost 7 games?
