When was the last time playoff baseball could be seen on free broadcast television?

Not the WS, but divisional and championship games?

Can't find the answer on Google.

Broadcast TV -- what you needed an antenna for. It was free. Remember? Anyone?

Now I'm just a bandwagon jumper. Waiting for the Giants to come around again.

It was a few years after the advent of cable TV. They warned us this would happen!

but before I could start feeling sorry for myself discovered playoff baseball could be watched during the afternoons, and for free. My outlook did brighten, albeit temporarily.

But I had cable. The WGN broadcasts from Chicago lasted me until the Rockies arrived in '93.

For example, the ALDS: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_League_Division_Series_broadcasters

NBC last broadcast the ALDS in 2000 (Yankees-A's). However, FOX did show the playoff games on its broadcast affiliates (when they were doing the coverage) for a few more years after that until they launched FS1.

The Twins haven't been for several years. And after the public built them that nice ballpark this is the thanks the fans get.
