Just watched Trouble With The Curve. gotta admit, I thought it was super.. I still love Eastwood as actor and director.. timing was so good... John Goodman is-- well, as only John Goodman can be,
The tempo and rhythm to it were very fine...relationship development... and of course the REAL Mustang! What is it a '67 '68?

(24,324 posts)Never had one, but a friend around 1964ish had an Austin Healy 3000 and I had a Sunbeam Tiger. Was the Tiger engine the same as the Mustang?

(131 posts)Here's what I own now.
I'm working on purchasing a 1969 Ford Fairlane Cobra to go with the 1968 I own. Will complement each other nicely at car shows.
Trouble with the Curve was a great movie, my favorite part was at the end where that young pitcher, Rigo, humiliated that blowhard, Gentry, that was rich.

(24,324 posts)My father worked for Ford in Teterboro, NJ. We had a-maybe '48, 53, a later Fairlane.
My Tiger was dark green and my college buddy with the Healy and I used to race at night on the country roads outside Ithaca, NY in the -60's. (youth invincibility, and all)
I don't know nearly as much about cars as you do, but my 2 dream cars are a '66 red Mustang convertible with an off white interior. (Saw one a couple years ago at a winery. !!)
And a '65, I think, Chevy Belair-- 2 door, either first choice powder blue and cream, 2nd choice red and cream.
Did you see Gran Torino?
That was my favorite Trouble With the Curve scene, also. karma, payback... yes, it was priceless...

(131 posts)I entered it in a car show and won third place. It's a 1968 Ford Fairlane Cobra, 428 c.i. Super Cobra Jet engine, Ford Toploader 4 Speed, 9" Detroit Locker Rear end, factory stock air conditioning, factory stock tachometer, factory stock clock.
Everything works on this beautiful car, although the price of gas, I can barely start the damn thing, much less drive it.
Here's a picture of the 1969 Ford Fairlane Cobra I'm fixing to buy in the next couple of days for a few of thousand dollars.
I want to restore it to it's former factory stock glory.
Although, as you can tell, I'm partial to Fords, the early Chevy Bel Airs were a fine car, especially the 1957 Chevy Bel Air.
These were always my favorite Chevy's growing up.
