Mets to Bay: Just go away.

The NY Mets and outfielder Jason Bay have parted company. Signed to a $65M contract after coming off a great season (36 HR) in Boston, he never played to that level in his years with the Mets. Last season his average was 165.

Mets had to forfeit $21M still owed on the remainder of his contract.

He made some fabulous plays in left-field. And he was a gamer. Always giving 100% effort.

But he just flat out forgot how to hit.
