pleasure of watching him pitch several games and made some of the great batters look like they were swatting at flies....he is also among the few in the post WW2 era who won 20 games and lost 20 games in the same season, (24-20 in 1973).

Had he not been injured in 1976 who knows how many games he would have won...

He was a great White Sox pitcher....

I forget who said it, but somebody said of him "Hitting Wilbur's knuckleball is like trying to hit a hummingbird with a pipe cleaner." One of the Chicago radio guys doing the game. I forget who but remember that line like it happened yesterday.
