Now .374, 35 games out after tonight's miserable loss to the basement dwelling Oakland A's.

Lived in Philly for over a decade. I even have a former Philly great in the family (by marriage). I've got nothing against the Phillies, but boy do I hate their fans. I don't even know how to feel now.

Given how the Gigantes broke my heart - And Madbum broke our hitter's will to live in the NLCS.

But I can't do it. Especially with the Cardinals being a mediocre, scuffling club these last 2 seasons.

San Fran has good ownership, a smart front office and a great manager, I wouldn't bet on them being down for long.

It didn’t have to be like that this year. It really didn’t. The Giants didn’t have to be eliminated from their division today. All they needed was for the Dodgers to lose and for them to win in order to live to be eliminated by a better team.

Go Nationals, baby!

If Giants and Phillies finish tied for baseball’s worst record, who gets the No.1 overall draft pick?

LOS ANGELES – The Giants still own the worst record in the major leagues, but their draft position in 2018 is far from settled as they enter the final week of the season.

They are 61-94. So are the Philadelphia Phillies. If those two clubs finish the season with identical records, the Phillies would be awarded the top pick in next June’s draft because they had a worse record in 2016.

Then you have the free-falling Detroit Tigers, who just announced that manager Brad Ausmus will not return. The Tigers are just a game better at 62-93. The Chicago White Sox are a half-game better, at 62-92.

In case you were wondering, the White Sox also would hold the draft tiebreaker over the Giants by virtue of an inferior 2016 record. So would the Tigers, who were even with the Giants in the loss column but won one fewer game because they only played 161 in 2016.
