So, Red Sox fans...what do ya think of this team?

They get Ells and Crawford back - whoops- Ortiz on the DL.
Pedroia is back soon, eventually Ortiz - can they FINALLY get their expected batting order together?

Pitching...yikes! Beckett, Lester - do I dare mention Dice K? the pen has been quite amazing...but what's wrong with the starters - why all the first inning runs? Why do they fall apart with a bad call, muffed play, etc?

This is one of the most bizarre sox teams in recent memory...yet somehow they can sneak into the playoffs....

I'm a founding member of Red Sox Nation and a life long fan since 1965.
I think this team lacks chemistry and commitment to each other, I blame the drama queen coach Valentine for his in ability to manage personalities. His style may work well in Japan or with a young team, but it has not translated to this veteran team. I was sorry to see Francona go and I think it was a terrible decision to hire Valentine.

My first experience with the Sox was watching them on TV with my grandfather in 1967 - John Wyatt was pitching.

1967 was a special year. To have that experience as a kid is what bonds you to a team for the rest of your life. I jokingly blame Carl Yazstremski, for my inability to become a pro baseball player, due to the fact I used to emulate his batting stance. LMAO. Later my kids copied Dewy Evans foot turned backwards stance.

Baseball is a great historically important game, that bridges generations together.

The record does not lie - this is a .500 team (though the talent and payroll is far in excess). So many things out of synch...

You know who could have really solidified the Sox and gotten them back into the playoff hunt?

Joe Mauer.

I would have happily welcomed both Beckett and Lester to Minnesota in exchange for #7.

So, Sox fans, what do you think? Getting Valentine out of there? Loading the team up with character guys? unloading Crawford, Beckett and Gonzo?

This team (2013) is fun to watch!
