The Cubs do that. They are winning, and they throw it away. Or, at least they have, traditionally. Maybe that is over now.
The Cubs are like the Democrats. They have something good, a sure win, and they try to throw it away.

so many memories of games lost do to errors, inattention and just plain bad baseball started playing in my head like an old time newsreel. It was titled "here we go again"

1969: The miracle Mets was great! 2004 Boston Red Socks series was fantastic, but this 2016 game 7 was the most exciting and suspenseful game I ever heard on the radio.
