Related: About this forumI remember when the Cubs were down three games to one in the 2016 World Series.
People were coming up to me at work expressing their condolences (my reputation as a Cubs fan preceded me!). I told them not to fear, that I was old enough to remember the 1968 Tigers World Series where they lost the first game; won the second; lost the third and fourth; and came back to win the fifth, sixth and seventh and so shall the Cubs. I never doubted it for a minute.

(12,456 posts)1. Prior to that I saw a Cubs fan all decked out in Cubbie stuff.
I was wearing my St. Louis Blues hoodie. We looked at each other and laughed. I said, why don't you guys win that WS and my guys will get inspired and hoist the Cup. They happened albeit a few years apart.

I always tell my friends who are Lions fans, "If the Cubs can win the World Series, the Lions can win the Super Bowl." It's just a matter of time.
