I remember when the Cubs were down three games to one in the 2016 World Series.

People were coming up to me at work expressing their condolences (my reputation as a Cubs fan preceded me!). I told them not to fear, that I was old enough to remember the 1968 Tigers World Series where they lost the first game; won the second; lost the third and fourth; and came back to win the fifth, sixth and seventh and so shall the Cubs. I never doubted it for a minute.

I was wearing my St. Louis Blues hoodie. We looked at each other and laughed. I said, why don't you guys win that WS and my guys will get inspired and hoist the Cup. They happened albeit a few years apart.

I always tell my friends who are Lions fans, "If the Cubs can win the World Series, the Lions can win the Super Bowl." It's just a matter of time.
