Been a great trip so far!
Drove down to Knoxville for the Lotus Owners Gathering with 4 others from my Lotus club and we cleaned up! My buddy Bill took first in his class for his beautiful orange twin turbo Esprit. My buddy Allen took third in his class for his wide body Elise and first for lowest time in the autocross competition. This is him with me in the background
And I took third in my class for the Blue Meanie!
Was an epic trip so far. Ripped through the tail of the dragon 4 times, hit the Moonshiners 68, the foothills run. Absolutely epic driving! I even almost crashed into a guardrail! LOL! Tomorrow is the Devils Triangle and then the trip home.

(11,994 posts)It was washed out a few weeks back. Was supposed to be fixed by now. But apparently there is a pissing match going on between the DOT and Forestry Dept.

(14,692 posts)but on a motorcycle it's heaven.. The end of the road dumps you into Telico Plains Tenn. There is a pretty good BBQ place in the center of town. A good reason to go!!!
As Bourdain said "Barbecue may not be the road to world peace, but it's a start"
Works for me!!

Yeah the foothills just before the w. entrance to the dragon is like. And if its good for a bike, its good for my tiny little Lotus. Its a street legal go cart. It was on my list of must drives but its closed.
May be back in May for Lotus vs. the Dragon. If so, theyll have it fixed by then.

(14,692 posts)He was working in a repair shop that just got in a Lotus Ford Cortina. It was being totaled by the insurance company. He looked at the Cortina engine and looked at his Ford engine and the block was the same. He bough the car from the insurance company for a song and stuck the Lotus modified engine in his TVR. Twin over head cams, Twin 40 DCOE weber carbs and a tuned exhaust? YES PLEASE. That car sounded just like a formula 1 racer when he wound it out. Absolute music.
It also followed Colin Chapmans idea of "adding lightness" The TVR weighed nothing..
