(2,623 posts)The key-started cars were shipped to the US without the immobilizer chip that only lets the car start if the chip is there. You dont have that. So the punks can just hot wire your car by following the video.
The ones with the push button start are ok since the key fob has the chip in it

And our state AG chooses to sue the car manufacturers instead of going after the thieves. But then, our newly elected county county attorney claims that kids' brains don't "mature" until they are 25 so she lets cold blooded murderers with a slap on the wrist.

(2,187 posts)Tik Tok is just showing them what to do. They are just using the usb to twist the ignition. And they are stealing any model this works on since they aren't trying to profit from them, they are just using them for joyrides then dumping or wrecking them.
