WNBA Legend Dawn Staley's Message to Suni Lee Leaves Gymnast Floored
Team USA's Sunisa "Suni" Lee and Simone Biles put on incredible performances during the women's all-around competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics. For the first time in Olympic history, two former all-around champions placed on the podium
Biles, who won the all-around gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics, once again won gold. Lee, who won the all-around gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, won bronze. For Lee, who didn't think she'd ever compete again after being diagnosed with two rare kidney diseases last year, this medal meant more than ever.
After performing a brilliant floor routine during the final rotation at the Bercy Arena, the 21-year-old received a message from WNBA legend Dawn Staley, who's in Paris with Team USA, which caused the gymnast to freak out in the best way.
"SUNI went to work! Come on and medal her!!," Staley posted on X. Lee reposted her message and wrote, "OMGGGG im fangirling rn !!!" Staley replied, "Thats me with you! Super proud of you! Love that medal smile!! Keep me great, SUNI!!!"
