- Koepka just couldnt sink a birdie.
- Lefty ties for second, oldest top five finish in Masters history, just really put it together on the back nine.
- And of course, Rahm, he just took over and got stronger on those later holes while Brooks faltered.
Those were quite the twists and turns.

(25,241 posts)I liked the fact that Jordan Spieth waited around to congratulate Rahm, Mickelson was nowhere to be found.

(69,881 posts)I found it nauseating to hear Nantz go on about how PM mentored Rahm in his years at Arizona State.
That's mostly a fable, greatly embellished by Phil.
At the Champion's dinner, Phil sat with NONE of the major names, past or present. Same with Koepka.
He left for Saudi money (because he squandered a bunch of what he had) and thought many others would follow him. He forgot that he has NEVER been popular among the other players and many of them thought of his defection as a good riddance event.
I have personal experience with Mickelson. He is a most off-putting personality & a phony. One of the most slappable people it's ever been my displeasure to be around.

(69,881 posts)15 didn't.
6 didn't even make the cut. That meant their proportion of making the cut was lower than tour members.
Yeah, they 3 top 5 finishes. They also had 3 top 25 finishes.
I guess my definition of "did well" differs.

(1,719 posts)It was as much about endurance as it was about golf. I thought since the first round that Rahm was determined to win. And that Sam Bennet was quite the story too. I was rooting for him more than anyone. Just so glad no LIV player won. ⛳️

(69,881 posts)My favorite part is that he planned to go play a 36 hole event today with his college team!
He just played as the low amateur in the Masters but wanted to get back to his team.
