NEW YORK (AP) Kevin Durants time in Brooklyn ended early Thursday when the Nets agreed to trade him to the Phoenix Suns, a person with knowledge of the details said.
The Suns will send Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks and additional draft compensation to the Nets for the 13-time All-Star.
The Suns also receive forward T.J. Warren in the deal, the person told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade is not yet official.
It was first reported by ESPN.

(69,881 posts)...how much the new owner wants to contend for a championship immediately.
Maybe he figures this gives them an immediate window & he'd like to bask in the glory of winning a championship merely weeks after taking control of the team.
It does seem risky, though.
Maybe they think they'll be good enough for a few years that those draft picks will be 26-30 and they aren't missing high impact choices.
Just guessing.
