Best offensive player didn't play. Best defensive player has been out since game 14. Bears lost! Again.
Houston goes to Indianapolis and winds.
Because they had a tie, the Bears win the race to the bottom.
I predict they'll trade down because the roster has as many holes as Swiss cheese.

(69,881 posts)At least they were in the game in a lot of those losses.
But, they've got to do something big before Fields gets broken.

The Chicago Bears need to address their pass-rushing needs and Will Anderson is ripe for the taking. The defense traded away Robert Quinn, and with a top-three selection Anderson can show off his arsenal against NFC North quarterbacks.

Sanborn is good, and DBs could be OK if they don't have to continually cover for 5-6 seconds.
I think these 2 take precedence over a receiver, for next year anyway.

(20,264 posts)now has the Bears shopping around that #1 pick...
The Bears own the top pick in a year when anywhere from eight to 12 teams could be looking to make a switch at quarterback,
Since the AFL/NFL merger in 1967, the No. 1 pick has been traded 12 times before the start of the draft. It last happened in 2016, when the Los Angeles Rams moved from No. 15 to No. 1 two weeks before selecting quarterback Jared Goff out of Cal. It was only the second time in the past 22 years that the No. 1 pick changed hands before the draft (the Atlanta Falcons moved up from No. 2 to draft Michael Vick first overall in 2001).

(69,881 posts)The talk on sportsradio here for a while on the possible deals, with hosts & callers spitballing.
Given how disappointing the Bulls are & how bad the Blackhawks are, there wasn't a lot of enthusiasm for anything but Bears talk. There have been some proposals that seem plausible.
The one I don't really see is Houston trading up. They know the Bears aren't drafting a QB, and while other teams need a QB, there's no absolute can't miss prospect. The worst case is they get the 2nd quarterback taken.

I had not heard anything about this, but I'm not surprised that they made such a deal.
