Get a load of the Boston Bruins! Setting a new league record

https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/bruins/bruins-are-just-fifth-nhl-team-ever-accomplish-historic-feat

The Boston Bruins have started the 2022-23 NHL season with 13 consecutive wins on home ice, which is a league record, besting the previous mark of 11 straight set by the 1963-64 Chicago Blackhawks and 2021-22 Florida Panthers.

But that record doesn't tell the entire story of Boston's dominance at TD Garden.

After beating the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, the Bruins extended their home win streak to 20 games if you include the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs and 2021-22 regular season.

**************************

This team is ON FIRE! The lines work insanely well together, and there is so much depth--every line is a scoring threat.

What sizzles in December, fails in April. Not that Pittsburgh hasn't shared the contagion. Streaks breed overconfidence and invincibility. But good luck to the Broons!

Linus Ullmark was amazing up until getting injured recently. Jeremy Swayman got off to a bit of a slow start, got hurt but hopefully is now bouncing back as the #1 starter until Ullmark returns.

Maybe not a flash in the pan. There is a long history of the team winning the Presidents trophy not winning the Cup and that is what they are playing for, but if you win the most games in the season, it says something and you are an odds on to go a long way in the chase for the cup. That said, this is a very good Bruins team.
