Aaron Judge has hit 57 home runs (two more yesterday).

What's most important is that he has more that either Roger Maris or Babe Ruth at this point. The other are cheaters and shouldn't be on this list.

Most HR in a season, MLB history -- with totals through 142 team games:

2001 Barry Bonds: 73 -- 60
1998 Mark McGwire: 70 -- 59
1998 Sammy Sosa: 66 -- 58
2022 Aaron Judge: 65 (current pace) -- 57
1999 Mark McGwire: 65 -- 55
2001 Sammy Sosa: 64 -- 54
1999 Sammy Sosa: 63 -- 59
1961 Roger Maris: 61 -- 55
1927 Babe Ruth: 60 (154 game season) -- 52

I did not remember that Ruth hit 8 homeruns in just 12 games in 1927.
52 in 142 games, 60 in 154. That's a blistering finish.
I thought McGwire hitting in 11 in '98 & Bonds 13 in '01 over the last 20 games was hot. This is even hotter.
Ruth also did it without juice & body armor.
