NFL's Deshaun Watson Punishment is absurd

Ian Rappaport is reporting on the NFL Network that the former judge who's the independent arbitrator is recommending a 6 game suspension.

6 games.

The NFL might appeal in order to make it longer, but that would present a chaotic outcome involving the courts and Goodell won't go for that.

We are from Southwest PA so we are life long Steeler fans. We had been watching and rooting for the Browns this past year because we liked Baker Mayfield (they screwed up his career by letting him play injured). Anyway, as Steeler fans, we had to tolerate Ben Roethlisberger all those years...we are so happy that he is gone and now the Browns hire this disgusting criminal as quarterback.
We will not be watching the Browns anymore. I hope they lose every game. All the women I know here are totally disgusted with the Browns. Shame on the judge and the Browns.

Yeah I liked Baker. I understand that the locker room didn’t think he was putting in enough time but when played it was great to watch.

An interesting factor the watch with any QB in Cleveland or Buffalo is the lake effect. It’s really pronounced in Buffalo. You have to have a cannon of an arm (Jim Kelly). Baker does. DeShaun has been playing in a dome his whole NFL career.

gave the ruling. Look I’m not saying Watson is a choir boy, but not one of the 24 was clear cut. All of them were on shakey legal ground so much so that 2 grand juries took a pass.
Watson was 18 or 19 when “when you are a star, they will let you do anything, grab them by the pussies” got elected. Then the kid got famous and then a lot of money. The male brain does not fully develop until 25.
Was he a jerk? Highly and most likely.
6 games and counseling and life long humiliation and people thinking he is the worst of the worst will never go away.

My understanding has been that these guys get a team of dietitians trainers and masseuses and stick with them. It’s all about recovery. Sounds to me that he looked at them as rent-a-dates.

Browns deserve this and worse for giving Dee Haslam a say in player personnel decisions. Dee boasted she vetted Watson and declared him a safe bet.

10. I'm sorry I am not saying he is pure as the driven snow. I'm saying that a tremendous amount of

money coupled with tremendous immaturity and packaged in a very young man is a recipe for ego to take over and for judgment to be abandoned.

I simple do not understand folks not taking the entire picture into consideration. Is it possible that Texas prosecutors and Grand Jury’s all got it wrong?
How do we know what we cant possibly know?

I have the same frustration with this as I didn’t with the Al Franklin debacle and Al was no young man when he supposedly grabbed a woman’s ass etc.

This mess will be forever a footnote in Watson’s history, he will be forever known as….
