Baker Mayfield traded to Carolina Panthers for fifth-round 2024 NFL Draft pick

Two of the top three picks from the 2018 NFL Draft have ended up on the same team.

For a 2024 conditional 5th-round draft pick, the Carolina Panthers are gaining former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield from the Cleveland Browns, Ian Rapoport reported.

According to Mike Garafolo, Cleveland will pay Mayfield $10.5 million this season, trimming over $8 million in cash and salary-cap space. On the other hand, Carolina will pay the quarterback approximately $5 million. Mayfield has agreed to trim around $3.5 million off of his base salary.

4. It looks like both DAs and the NFL investigator all sandbagged

They have contemporary texts of Watson apologizing to one of the claimants. Apologizing for what?

He treated these massage therapists like prostitutes. Some of them might have been making a little on the side, but not all of them. His opening offer to make it something more was a crime (at a minimum exposure but also potential sexual battery).

He is the one that demanded privacy.

He is the one that solicited at least 66 (some reports are over a 100).

He is the one who apologized.

He is the one who paid the supervisor of one of the women $5K.

He is the one whose lawyer basically said massage therapist = prostitute.

He is the one that got an NDA from the Texans.

6. The number is startling

Usually athletes at that level have a team. Trainer, massage, dietitian, etc. it’s all about recovery to the next game. Regardless of anything those people had a right to say NO.

I looked the other way about Haslan being a crook. I can’t abide this.
