Jets trade for Eagles QB Joe Flacco with Zach Wilson injured

A day after rookie quarterback Zach Wilson suffered a knee injury, the New York Jets have traded for Philadelphia Eagles backup Joe Flacco.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed the deal to beat reporters Monday afternoon after NFL Network's Mike Garafolo initially reported the news.

Per NFL Network, the Jets are sending a sixth-round draft pick to the Eagles in return that could escalate to a fifth-round pick based on how much Flacco plays.

Wilson sidelined for multiple weeks

Wilson left Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots after suffering the injury in the second quarter. His right knee got twisted on a hit by linebacker Matthew Judon. He didn't return to the game.

Would be three times the QB of washed up Flacco.

They're not going to sign Kaepernick for a few weeks (nor should we want them to because his goal is a starting job, not a fill-in one) when Flacco already knows the system and will be relegated to backup as soon as Wilson is back.

He'll never get a starting job, his only path is injury replacement.

He's better than Zach Wilson too.

Flacco will be lucky to last a couple of weeks. Colin is mobile, but would still get beat up.
