Here's mine (barring major injuries):
In a rematch, San Francisco over Kansas City.

Why aren't you playing fantasy football with us, Auggie?

(31,798 posts)If I play I'd play to win. I used to make and host weekly NFL picks as you may remember, and one year played in Condom's college challenge, but it just took too much time researching teams.
Thanks for asking.
I think you just might get those odds on Jags over Bears.
I'm basing my pick on the incredibly talented Patrick Mahomes and his new o-line and the depth of S.F.'s pass rush plus whatever offensive madness Kyle Shanahan has cooked up using the tandem of Jimmy Garappolo and Trey Lance. He gave us a taste of that against the Raiders yesterday.
Should be a great season for a lot of teams.

(20,257 posts)Jimmy G has a history of getting hurt, so that could take him out of the equation, of course, but if he manages to stay healthy, you figure he can hold off Lance from overtaking him completely this season?

(31,798 posts)and yes, that's providing Garoppolo stays healthy. Lining Lance up in the slot or backfield provides for all sorts of play-action (or play action fakes) reverses, fake reverses, bootlegs and fake bootlegs that should have defenses constantly guessing and substituting. On top of that is the usual strong running game and passing attack. Sounds good on paper, but only as long as key players stay healthy.
Lance isn't ready to start and play a complete game yet. But it looks like he will see action, enough that the opposing team will have to plan for him. And that's the big idea, right? Keep the defense off-balance and guessing.
