Am a bit peeved, all the fans at Wimbledon are rooting for the dang Joker!!!!!!

A 5 set match with it in a tie break, and I swear the fans are rooting for the old man, and not the Canadian. And, ok, ok, he’s good, but shoot, I want the Canadian. Well then it’ll be sweater when he gets knocked off playing Sinner. Match has been going for 5 hours!!!!!!

I'm not sure it's all the fans. Joker's cheering section is organized and loud. Jim__ 15 hrs ago #1

The fans tend to reward longevity. Many players who weren't particularly popular when they were younger gain respect from the fans as they age. This was true with Connors, and Navratilova, Chris Evert (who started out being known as "Navrat the Brat" and the Ice Princess), probably with McEnroe and lots of others who aren't springing to mind, and probably more recently.

I also wanted the Canadian to win but it's to the credit of the tennis crowd that they do this, IMHO.

It seems to me that 'Joker' has been trying to re-hab his media persona for a couple/few years now. Seems it's working.

Remember his early career!

I really enjoyed the match. I hope we can expect the rest of the matches to be nearly as good.
