The pressure in being only a small part of a story

If you're only a rock, a small object in the greater part of the story.
And you inevitably weather through physical forces through time,
maybe once you were the foundation of a great river long ago, but
now, you're just sitting there weathering by the wind in a barren dessert.

I guess it's okay to be just another rock in a dried riverbed,
since there's much less pressure than being the newest creation from the hot radioactive molten center of the Earth's core.

How you view it,
I guess it depends upon your age.
