I know that The First 48 isn't supposed to make you laugh, but

I just saw an episode where an eight-year girl woke up to find her mother strangled and her mother's boyfriend gone. She didn't know the boyfriend's last name, and there were no photos of him around the house. She started to describe him to the police, then suddenly said, "We went to the store yesterday -- they have pictures." So they went to the store, got the surveillance tape, found a nice closeup of the guy, and had him in custody within the first twenty-four! If the kid hadn't thought of that, they'd probably still be looking for him!
