CT Cable Installer Sends Customer's Half-Naked Pictures To Himself

A 33-year-old woman called police on Christmas Eve last year to complain about a technician representing Cox Communications who had come to her home to install new cable boxes and internet service, an arrest warrant affidavit released Thursday said.

The woman said she went to work, but her mother stayed home as the man, later identified as Siawor, installed the equipment, the affidavit said. The woman said she later found that Siawor had opened her computer files without her permission, somehow bypassing password protection, and transferred nine photos of her, some of which showed her partially clothed, to his own Facebook account, tthe affidavit said.

The woman said she learned that the photos had been sent when a woman who identified herself as Siawor’s wife called her, asking, “ ‘Hey, I have a quick question — why are you sending naked pictures to my husband?’ ” the affidavit said. The victim replied that she had not sent any photos, and the other woman called back later saying a shamed Siawor had confessed to uploading the pictures without the victim’s knowledge, the affidavit said. The woman who said she was Siawor’s wife apologized and begged the victim not to call police — for the sake of her 3-year-old child — explaining that her family needed Siawor to keep his job, the affidavit said.

A forensic examination of the woman’s computer showed that it had been accessed while Siawor was at the home and that Siawor’s Facebook Messenger application also was visited, the affidavit said. Obed Siawor, 27, of 115 Nutmeg Lane, East Hartford, CT was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree burglary and unauthorized access to a computer system, police said. Siawor was being held on bail of $25,000.
