I emailed the ".prc" file versions to my Kindle -- they look fine. Also available in pdf and html. I also sent him a donation via paypal.

(37,389 posts)Sadly, it's been hard to find non-sucky bookstores for the last several years, so I've missed a lot of books.

(25,966 posts)It's clear from Watts' postings on his website that he's had a pretty rocky relationship with his publisher. If he's releasing these CC, I assume that has implications about what the publisher's plans for future printings are.

(5,002 posts)but skimming the books has 'set the hook' so to speak.
How do I go about getting it to my new kindle?
I just got it and am not well versed in the tricks yet.

(25,966 posts)when you set up your kindle, you get an email address: your_name@kindle.com
Then, you just attach a file to an email and send it to that address. They charge you some modest fee, like fifteen cents per megabyte or something, and automatically translate the file and the next time you turn on your kindle's wireless, it will automatically download it.
word docs seem to generally work well. these .prc docs from peter watts worked very well. pdf files may be dicier, especially if you don't have the larger version of the kindle.
