Anyone watch the movie LUCY yet?

Caught it last night on the web.

It was written by the same french guy that wrote
the Fifth Element. Here he wrote and directed

I would recommend it for sci/fi fans

Also the avant garde Sci/fi Scottish film Under the Skin is interesting which she also stars in.

neither films are typical hollywood.

2. Sort of on the same vein as 'Transcendece'

with Johnny Depp I thought. Which I enjoyed also

Spike TV Developing Kim Stanley Robinson’s Mars Trilogy As TV Series

Spike TV is venturing into sci-fi with Red Mars, a scripted drama series project based on Kim Stanley Robinson’s bestselling “hard” science-fiction trilogy about the colonization and terraforming transformation of Mars into a place where humans can sustainably live. The TV series adaptation, named after the first book in the trilogy, will be produced by HBO’s Game Of Thrones co-executive producer Vince Gerardis. Robinson will serve as consultant. “The heart of this series tackles the question of what it means to be human — and can we sustain our humanity under incredible duress,” said Sharon Levy, Spike TV’s EVP Original Series.

3. A large fraction of it broke my "willing suspension of disbelief."

It needed some scientifically literate people to patch over the rough spots. Dr. Who and Star Trek are about as far-fetched as one can get and still be called "science fiction" but they generally suffer fewer cringe-worthy moments than this movie did.

In particular, I've spent many, many, many long hours attending scientific, technical, and medical lectures. That part of the movie was almost "Spock's Brain" painful to sit through.

Even so it was a much more thoughtful movie than the usual sci/fi action blender.
