Blue

I never noticed this group until recently. I am in the process of getting together a collection and am adding more works to it. I wanted to share this one.

I had always wondered
what it would be like to
be someone else.
When I was little,
I would close my lids
Slip into the skin of another,
see the world through
a different pair of eyes.
Feel what they feel,
taste their mouth in mine,


See if they see colors the same.
You know?
Like,
What does blue look like to you?


I asked a man who was colorblind.
But he was high at the time.
And,
I never make sense, so
I left it alone. Though,
he did let me know
that,


Colors do not look the same.
Shame.


After that,
I never did wonder what it would be like
to be someone else.
You know?
Because,
what would I do if I lost the color blue?

I like your poem! It's funny; recently I was asking myself nearly the same question. I had no answers, though.

I especially like your ending. The turn at the end surprised me and made me smile. Very nice!

I figured it was a question many ask themselves from time to time. I'm such an introvert that I feel like I should share thoughts more than I do. I figured I should start posting my work once I send them in to the publisher in order to decide what goes in the book and what to save for later. I read your haiku's too. I like them. A lot of meaning packed into few words. I'm no good at it myself. Not enough imagination probably.

I wonder if you're confusing me with someone else; I don't write haiku. Hmmm.

Anyway, best of luck with your publishing efforts! And it is an effort.

It's worth the effort, to see your name in print because someone who doesn't know you likes what you've written.

It is nice to get a notice that your work is accepted. Maybe I was thinking about another DUer with the Haiku's, but I do remember something from you that made me feel romantical. It was nice.
