desire
there is nothing more natural or human as a desire
brief moments of fantasy held then gradually let go
to catch a face glowing irrational in a flickering fire
hidden deep in the anatomy emerging sure but slow
as to not reach out to caress is to deny all of nature
what holds the fingers back and stills a quick tongue
avoids unwanted and careless evil motion until later
and discover what love lacks as a trap at last sprung
learning from youth unto age of all a frivolous need
cast away rhyme and reason not knowing of expense
turning to the final page watching the wounds bleed
committing the great treason excusing all of pretense
left alone ruined and ragged exposing the rotted soul
clutching to the cliffs jagged while fearing losing hold
