Uncertainty
Time splits along its many courses
Ribbons infinite through the eras
Never straight, always twisting
Rolling onward towards eternity
My road is unsure
So many events, so many changes
As I spin through my days
One at a time
When I think I understand
The rug is pulled away
Throwing me to the ground
Humiliated, destroyed
Uncertainty rules my life
Never knowing the final course
For all my efforts at control
It is all demolished in seconds
What can I do to straighten the road?
What can be done to smooth out my course?
Swirling like rapids throughout my life
All chaos, no calmness, no direction
Is there any hope for the definite?
I don’t see it on the horizon
But for one known, the sure,
The one thing I fear is a given
I cannot stop it…
