White carpet cold stretched to the beyond
A frozen field infinite in its brightness
Blinding and silent in the chilled winter air
Icy wonder, the first snow of the season
Unbroken by footprints in the morning sunrise
A floor of cold crystals in front of me
Pearls of ice hang from twisted branches above
As I look ahead and take my first step
An explosion of sound blasts through the air
Breaking the silence of the winter morning
As I spoil the purity of the freshly laid snow
Ruining forever the innocence around me

(470 posts)After the election, I'm going to try to write a bit less on politics/social issues...if things turn out right, that is. Lately, that just seems to be the focus of my attention.
Thanks again.
