Preventing the capsize

When chaos rules and sanity is a joke
And reckless words can start a war
Commands believed to be God-given
To narcissistic dominators of Man

Should I just raise the White Flag?
Should I break the mast and sink the ship?
To prevent the pirates of our lives
From throwing us overboard?

Sometimes passive surrender
Breaks the spirit of the evil ones
Who crave resistance so they can crush
Those who oppose them under their heels.

Don’t give them the satisfaction
Just leave them out on the island alone
With no help and no provision
To starve in the relentless noonday heat…
