Only a video from Youtube will show up and play in my post. Youtube does not have this complete episode so I found it on Dailymotion.
Video has been removed.

(1,265 posts)Had a television exhibit on display, including 'The Swamp' from MASH.
My favorite though, were Archie's and Edith's arm chairs.
Sort of off topic: My 15 year old cannot believe that they did an episode of Archie in black face - she refuses to watch the episode but has not watched enough to understand the point of his make up in that part of the episode being broadcast during prime time, when I try to explain it. "Dad - it doesn't sound funny". The 70's and early 80's must seem like a million years ago to her. She is a good liberal, though. She will make a difference one day soon.

(2,432 posts)That was when Gloria went into labor and the nurse at the hospital was laughing at Archie in blackface. The show was making fun of bigots. Carroll O' Connor was a liberal playing a character.

(1,265 posts)Sammy D''s kiss at the end of the episode you posted about reminded me of that and trying to convince my daughter to watch more of the show. I am not at a Norman Lear level of being able to articulate without long drawn out explanations to her. I never needed to explain that show to anyone - I just loved it. I was entirely on board when Maude and the Jeffersons spun off.
So much good stuff. Loved O'Connor.
Thanks for posting about these! Looking forward to more.
Have a good one!
PS: I love the Reiners so much and everything they do and stand for.
