Last night I had a nightmare that disco made a comeback.

At first i was afraid, I was petrified.

Read on twitter, and i need more coffee I’m easily amused.

And I use "Song" loosely. Why Zyrtec would choose to incorporate it into a commercial is beyond me.

It is so formulaic that it checks all the boxes for a pop song. The bouncy melody gets stuck in the mind - inextricably, I imagine. The beat implies energy and vitality. Advertising weasels exploit our intimate familiarity with this little ditty. When you’ve heard something 20,000 times, it’s kinda hard to ignore when you hear it in an unexpected or random setting.

I’m hardly an expert in music, psychology, or marketing strategy, so my assessment means bupkis. As it’s said about art, I know what I like, and I don’t like Funkytown on many levels. Millions within my cohort may have succumbed to its ‘charms’, but even then I perceived it as pop schlock.

The first time I saw it was when I was stationed in Iceland. I thought it was AWFUL but as time has gone on, I've gained an appreciation for the film.

I remember how in the enlisted club they played a WHOLE lot of disco, especially the SNF soundtrack. There was one couple who did the exact same choreographed dance to each and every song. They thought they were spectacular.

Gotta hand it to disco - it was joyful. But more for extroverts.

I've heard that if you have to do CPR, the rhythm/speed of compressions is about the same as the beats in "Staying Alive". I haven't tested this yet.

I can't believe nobody's brought this one up. The instructor makes the same joke every year.

For optimists - Stayin' Alive.
For pessimists - Another One Bites The Dust.

In Trump's case, I believe the latter would be appropriate.
