As long as you're not breaking stuff while cleaning!

My ex, and one of the reasons he's an ex, had a philosophy about housework he didn't want to do;

"If you do a real shitty job, break a few favorite dishes, they'll stop asking you to do those chores."

That would be the one exception.

A few years back, I made my teenage son help me load the dishwasher instead of just sitting on his ass. He did, but he made sure he did a lousy job of it, and after a couple of broken glasses, and a new dishwasher, I gave him other things to do instead.
