The View from Flyover Country: Dispatches from the Forgotten America

This is an excellent book. it's a collection of essays from form Al Jazeera reporter Sarah Kendzior.

it's a little dated but the message and meanings in her essays remain very current.

it's heartbreaking, insightful and a reflection of who we are as a nation.
