Hi, over in the fiction group, we are attempting to start a book discussion group...

I would like to know if anyone here would be interested in the same, but for non-fiction? What are your thoughts?

I was about to ask if there was still a non-fiction discussion group. At one point there was a discussion group, but recently there have not been any posts about the group.

2. I'm not really one to be able to rally people, but I would love to try to do one if we could get

enough people and could decide on a book. We are giving it a go on a different forum

I believe many people here would enjoy that site even if not interested in a book group. Anyway, We are reading The Old Man in the Sea and just working out the kinks. Again, if is any interest let me know. I'll follow Goblinmonger's lead and get jump in head first!

3. I would be interested

Although I think past groups have had the problem of folks not reading the book on time or not participating regularly (say, if they weren't interested in the book). One way to get around that might be to have an open book discussion group, where people talk about what they're reading and why it's interesting. But then again, that's the point of this forum, so I don't know.
