A great picture book to read to children with a "socio-political" theme

How Georgie Radbourn Saved Baseball, by David Shannon (Blue Sky Press 1994)

If you are a grade school teacher for 1-3, or a librarian looking for something to share with children as they semi-grasp the significance of politics and public opinion, I highly recommend you check this one out. It's allegorical / non-partisan, but certainly has a human-rights / free speech underpinning.

I just read it to my 8 y.o. and she was engrossed by it.
