EPUB woe is me........

Found a great little site with a bunch of books I was dying to read. Downloaded about a dozen, and out of that dozen exactly one would open and read.

Bummer.

Anybody got any hints on how to make these EPUB files run? As usual they are completely obscure books only found in one dank corner of the Internet, and for what it's worth I use Mobi Reader. Anybody have any luck converting EPUB files to Acrobat? TIA.

free
converts books, AND you can drag and drop your epub book into Calibre, then read it with Calibre
or
ask Calibre to convert it to PDF or text or anyone of a number of extensions.
I use it to convert Mobi ( Kindle) books to epub for Nook.
i use it to turn some books to PDF if I want to read them on my puter.

give it a look see. Just google Calibre.

That's a massive download for us rubes out in the sticks, took almost 3 hours, but it works very well. Seems to read all the files fine. Also much more flexible than Mobi. Also lots to learn to use!

Thanks again.
